it’s a horserace. life is, i mean. some days, you’re ahead. you’re happy, smiling, in the best position where nothing can bring you down. some days, you’re not so lucky. every little word, every thought has the ability to cloud your mind, dampen your mood, and obscure your vision of reality. all goes to say that you’re in charge of your reality. even though external sources might influence your judgment, you ultimately have the power to decide how your day will be. generally, it goes a little something like this:

expectations: don’t have them.
advice: don’t mind it
astrology: don’t buy it
opportunities: don't waste it.
time: don’t waste it
friends: adore it.
love: spread it.
pain: relieve it.
hate: contain it.
grades: attain it.
career: discover it.
truth: accept it.
attachment: mind it.
ego: forego it
passion: unfold it.
communication: broaden it.
joy: multiply it.
respect: command it.
pictures: take it.
memories: make it
awkwardness: evade it
sins: avoid it
words: mean it
dreams: chase it
habits: break it
struggles: overcome it
controversy: debate it
thoughts: document it
jealousy: purge it.
family: embrace it.
life: encircle it.

there’s a lot of things missing from this list.
positive ideals: enhance it. negatives: downplay it.
now if only it were so easy to follow this …
