life’s complicated. we know this. we also know that there are always solutions to problems out there. sure we’ve been taught to believe in not using “always” and “never” too much, but it’s the attitude you take on life is crucial to the way that you take responsibility for it. in fact, it shapes it. but sometimes, as hard as it is, even if you have the right attitude, and even if you know the solution to the problem, and even if you always try – there are obstacles, because knowing and acting on the said solution are rather different. and trying – well, trying leaves room for error.
but ultimately, you need to do what’s right for you. you need to believe that whatever you decide comes from the heart, and that you have no regrets in any decision that you make. that you will be happy – genuinely, unconditionally happy – because you come first. if you are not happy yourself, how do you expect to bring happiness to others? you’ve been deluding yourself into thinking you’re happy by busying yourself with work, and school, and friends that genuinely mean something to you but until you realize that you’ve lost yourself, and that perhaps the solution isn’t to throw yourself into work, but to confront the feelings, and the problem, and the challenge ahead of you … as many time as you’ve written a piece about change, as many times as you’ve attempted – that’s all it is – an attempt. you genuinely have to believe you’re making the right decision – as difficult as it is. and perhaps, you’re better off because of it. as much as you’d like to believe there’s good to everyone, maybe sometimes there isn’t. as much as you’d like to think everything happens for a reason, and maybe it does, you need not torture yourself to make that reason clear.
