oh the places you'll go!

oh ... the places you'll go.
of that, one will never know!
will you traverse the steps of the UN,
or chase the patter of the feet
and the laughter of your children,
it is yet to be discovered.

with tomorrow in mind,
you feel as though you're put in a bind,
do you seize the day today? or say,
ces't la vie and plan for the future
as the hours of today fade away.

deep dreams and unfulfilled desires
continue to build, higher and higher.
what shall i accomplish today? you
ask yourself.
will you volunteer to do something
unselfish, like feed the homeless?
or should you pursue those desires
you have not allowed yourself to caress?

the complexity of balance in life
may lead one amiss,
and all that's needed to bring you to
the places you want to go,
is a happy heart, a determined mind,
and of course, a little heave-ho.

oh the things you'll endure!
of this, one is never sure,
just remember to keep a smile on
your face, a positive attitude,
and your heart pure!

oh the things you'll come across,
it may be perfectly planned,
or wrenches in the plan may throw
you a toss ...

just know that everything happens for
a reason,
a rhyme reminds you, that the future,
your plans, your feelings may change
with the season.
though change may be uncalled for,
it surely will take you afar,
maybe to
the places you want to go!
who knows?

never let solitude get in the way of
achieving your dreams,
and no matter how difficult it may seem,
realize that everything is making you
strong.
no matter the depth of pain, no matter how
long,
remind yourself that you'll be soon singing
a happier song,
a tune that will accompany you to those places
you'll definitely go.

remember the friends, the enemies, the ones
that made you who you are,
but always have faith, that no matter how
difficult it gets,
no matter what you've experienced,
that you're uniquely you,
and that you'll go far.

yes, you'll go far, to those places you can't wait
to go!
but along the way, live, laugh, love and learn,
and remember, there'll be a lot of heave-ho :)
so go,
to those places you'll go!
never let anything get you low,
and i'm sure you'll experience it all,
take it in - the sights, the sounds, the people,
enjoy it and love every moment
on the path to those places you'll go!
